Who We Are
Our mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence.
Family Promise of Pierce County is the most effective program to help homeless families because it provides a comprehensive approach to addressing the root causes of homelessness, including:
-
Emergency shelter: Family Promise provides families with a safe and supportive place to stay while they work towards permanent housing.
-
Case management: Family Promise case managers work with families to develop personalized plans to address their unique needs, such as finding employment, accessing healthcare, and enrolling children in school.
-
Financial assistance: Family Promise provides families with financial assistance to help them cover basic expenses, such as food, transportation, and childcare.
-
Education and employment programs: Family Promise offers a variety of education and employment programs to help families develop the skills they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
Family Promise is also unique in its community-based approach. Families stay at host congregations and receive meals and support from volunteers. This helps to create a sense of community and belonging for families, and it also helps to raise awareness of homelessness in the community.
We serve as a bridge to stability for families experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, education, and resource navigation through community collaborations.

We envision all families in our community living in a safe and sustainable home.
